Games Workshop Group said that three-month performance to Aug. 28 was ahead of the board expectations for the quarter and declared a dividend. The British miniature-wargaming company said Friday that pretax profit for the period is estimated to be at around 57 million pounds ($70.7 million) compared with GBP39 million for the same period a year ago. The increase has been driven by healthy growth across all channels, it said. Core revenue for the period is at around GBP121 million, also up from GBP106 million a year ago, while licensing revenue rose to around GBP6 million from GBP3 million. “The board recognizes that this performance is better than the prior year but is also aware that it is still early in the financial year,” the company added. The board has also declared a dividend of 50 pence a share, bringing the dividends declared so far in to GBP1.95 a share. This compares with the declared dividends of GBP1.20 a share for the same period a year ago.

B90 said it has raised 2 million pounds ($2.5 million) in a share placing and subscription, to be used as investments and general working capital. The online marketing and operating company said Friday that the shares were offered at a price of 5.44 pence each, representing an 11% discount to last night closing price. The funds will be used for investments in inorganic growth opportunities, investments in own assets and general working capital and fundraising expenses, the company said.

Beacon Energy said that it has raised 4.3 million pounds ($5.3 million) through an oversubscribed share placing, and that proceeds will be used for general working capital. The oil-and-gas company said Friday that it has placed 2.67 billion shares and other 200 million shares were offered via retail offer. The company previously said that shares were placed at an issue price of 0.15 pence a share, a discount of around 17% to Thursday’s closing price of 0.18 pence. “The fundraise provides welcome additional working capital to support bringing the SCHB-2(2.) well into commercial production,” Chief Executive Larry Bottomley said.

GCM Resources said its nonexecutive Chairman Mohd Najib Bin Abdul Aziz resigned from the position and will be succeeded by nonexecutive Director Christian Taylor-Wilkinson on an interim basis. The AIM-listed mining and energy company on Friday said Abdul Aziz will be stepping down on Oct. 11. It added that it is in the process of recruiting new independent nonexecutive directors to join the board and make a final decision on the chair’s role. The London-listed group added that it continues to promote its planned coal mining and power project in Bangladesh in partnership with the government through the period surrounding the country’s general election, which is due in January.

Petra Diamonds said it swung to a pretax loss in fiscal 2023 on lower production and weaker realized prices, while it backed its fiscal 2024 guidance. The gemstone miner said Friday said it swung to a pretax loss of $38.8 million in the year ended June 30 from a restated pretax profit of $139.5 million in fiscal 2022. Adjusted pretax profit fell to $8.2 million from $155.1 million a year prior. The negative swing reflects a fall in revenue to $325.3 million from $563.7 million, driven by decline in total diamond production, as previously reported, as well as average realized price falling 14% to $139 per carat. However, production showed an improving trend in the second half-year, as operating performance stabilized. As such, Petra Diamonds reaffirmed its fiscal 2024 guidance for total carats recovered between 2.9 million and 3.2 million, as well as its cost and capital expenditure guidance. “Actions taken to strengthen our business and improve cash flow generation, together with our capital discipline around investing in the growth and life extension of our operations, means that Petra is resilient in the short-term and well placed in the medium to longer term to leverage these continued supportive diamond market fundamentals,” Chief Executive Richard Duffy said.

Powerhouse Energy Group said it has received confirmation from the European Patent Office that its patent application regarding the treatment of waste material will be fully granted. The U.K. technology company said Friday that the patent for its method and apparatus for the treatment of waste material will be granted on Oct. 11. “The patent application is in relation to protection around the control of the heating of the waste within the Thermal Conversion Chamber over several zones to allow the optimum synthesis gas to be produced,” it said. The patent will provide protection in the U.K. and Ireland, as well as across Europe. The region is expected to become a key market for the group, it added.

Eagle Eye Solutions said Friday that Chair Malcolm Wall won’t seek reelection at the company’s annual general meeting in November, and named Anne de Kerckhove as successor. The U.K. marketing-software company said De Kerckhove will join the board on the first day of October as a nonexecutive director, and succeed Wall as chair at the conclusion of the meeting. Wall is stepping down after reaching his nine-year tenure on the board. De Kerckhove is currently a senior independent director at 888 Holdings and was previously a nonexecutive director at 7Digital Group.

Power Metal Resources said it has found two significant gold anomalies at its Tati gold project in Botswana. The London-listed metals exploration company said Friday that geochemical soil tests identified two gold-in-soil anomalies at Tati. “We are seeking to advance exploration at the project expeditiously, whilst also managing inbound interest in the project and its potential for near-term small scale mining,” Chief Executive Sean Wade said.
