Jeffrey Epstein: Prison staff guarding financier on night he died admit falsifying records

TWO prison workers tasked with guarding Jeffrey Epstein on the night he took his own life in jail have admitted falsifying records.

Tova Noel and Michael Thomas were accused of sleeping and browsing the internet instead of monitoring Epstein at the New York jail in August 2019. However, they will avoid time behind bars under an agreement with prosecutors, according to Associated Press.

Noel and Thomas were charged with lying on prison records to make it seem as though they had made required checks on Mr Epstein before he was found.

AP referenced a letter from federal prosecutors filed in court papers on Friday.

It said they will enter into a deferred prosecution agreement with the Justice Department and will serve no time behind bars.
