Turkish troll industry, and Erdogan’s bulling activity in media revealed by Twitter

On June 3, 2020 Twitter shared with the Stanford Internet Observatory, accounts and tweets associated with three distinct take-downs. These include: China, Russia and Turkey.

The golden medal of fake accounts and fake tweets globally goes, however, to Turkey and president Erdogan.

Turkey had 100 times more fake account violations than China, and 10 times more fake tweets than Russia.

In particular while China sent 348,608 fake tweets and Russia sent 3,434,792 fake tweets, Turkey managed to sent more than…36 million fake tweets!

More precisely, Turkey  had 7,340 fake accounts that tweeted 36,948,524 times. Twitter attributes the operation to the youth wing of the Erdogan’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). The operation, for the most part, targeted Turkish citizens, in particular the Kurdish party HDP. However, it is well known the role of Turkish trolls in bullying Greek, American, English and other accounts as well. This report is just a proof that part of the propaganda machine has been tracked, analysed and exposed.

All these show the ugly face of Erdogan’s dictatorship in Turkey. A dictatorship that bullies its citizens.

Turkey not only bullies other countries, with imperialistic wars in Syria and Libya, occupying the half of Cyprus as well.

Erdogan’s Turkey also funds terrorists, but also bullies its own citizens in real life and in social media.

We note that while Erdogan’s Turkish trolls make extensive use of twitter,  Erdogan’s dictatorship limited the use of social media for ordinary Turkish citizens and has recently hacked several Kurdish accounts, while commits genocide and  tortures against Kurds.
