Florida lawmakers ban use of so-called vaccine passports
Florida lawmakers passed a bill, which bans mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations in the state. The legislation, SB 2006, was passed Thursday and placed a permanent ban on so-called “vaccination passports.”
The legislation passed 76-40. It now goes to @GovRonDeSantis desk for signature.

This came shortly after Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) argued that the passports would create “huge privacy issues.”
In FL, we respect everyone’s freedoms, & during the pandemic, we have prioritized the people’s liberties over political overreach & authoritarian mandates.
As we round the corner on this pandemic, FL will NOT force its residents or visitors to obtain a vaccine passport. https://t.co/wd9JWwDATr

The Senate’s bill sponsor added, they would hamper efforts to return to normalcy, noting people should not have to provide documentation to certify they are vaccinated just to enter a grocery store or a school.
